On 20 January 2026, OTA Media will join forces with HM Treasury, London Stock Exchange Group and HaysMac to deliver a landmark Market Close event titled The Next Agenda: Britain’s Financial Renewal.
This flagship gathering will bring together senior figures from government, finance, technology and investment to explore the ideas shaping the country’s next chapter of economic leadership. Held at the London Stock Exchange, the event will feature a live market close ceremony, a conversation with Sir Charles Bowman and Sir Kenneth Olisa, and a high-level panel hosted by HM Treasury.
Please note: His Majesty King Charles III will not be attending this event.
In the lead up to the event, OTA Media will release a weekly series of curated Off The Agenda interviews. Each conversation aligns with HM Treasury’s core policy pillars, including economic growth, innovation and fintech, green finance, inclusion and global partnerships. Together, these interviews build a cohesive national narrative, exploring the opportunities and challenges shaping Britain’s next phase of financial renewal.

From Neyber to national infrastructure, a lesson in resilience, scale and inclusion.
In the latest episode of Off The Agenda, Ezechi Britton MBE sits down with Sir Charles Bowman and Brenda Emmanus OBE to reflect on the mindset that took him from software engineer to FinTech founder and one of the UK’s most influential voices in financial innovation.
Failure, he says, was formative. “Failure is the best teacher.” Early setbacks sharpened his judgment and forced discipline, lessons that would later underpin his success at scale.
Britton co-founded Neyber alongside Martin Ijaha and Monica Kalia, building the company from first principles into a category-defining FinTech. Neyber raised over £200 million in capital, lent more than £170 million to UK employees, and secured a £21 million Series C led by Wadhawan Global Capital, cementing its position as a pioneer in salary-deducted lending.
Now advising high-growth companies, Ezechi sees a recurring challenge among founders: speed without reflection. “You still need a north star,” he warns. “Agility isn’t a substitute for strategy.” Scaling, he argues, requires the humility to pause, seek experience and admit what you do not yet know.
Looking beyond individual companies, Ezechi is candid about the UK’s structural risks. While global tech giants accelerate investment in AI, digital identity and financial infrastructure, Britain risks falling behind. “We’ve got the talent,” he says. “What we need are big domestic investors willing to lead.”
A long-standing advocate for underrepresented founders, Ezechi continues to focus on access, networks and senior sponsorship through his work with Code Untapped, Impact X and the Crisis Venture Studio. For him, success is not measured in accolades but in outcomes, when a founder says his advice changed their trajectory.
A BAFTA-winning songwriter brings culture to the City’s biggest conversations.

We’re excited to announce that Jordan Thomas, the London-born songwriter, musician and producer newly signed to Universal Music, will open Market Close.
Jordan has written and produced for major UK artists including Jess Glynne, Jessie Ware, PANG and Wretch 32. A multi-instrumentalist raised on jazz piano and vibrant Pentecostal performances, he began songwriting at 12 and has since built an impressive catalogue, including Jessie Ware’s Midnight, HRVY’s Personal, Professor Green’s Count On You, and Wretch 32 and Kranium’s Take Me As I Am - the song that led to his Universal Music Publishing deal.

Jordan’s path is as compelling as his music, he is a two-time BAFTA-winning songwriter with a platinum record and a Number One award. Now stepping forward as an artist in his own right, Jordan brings a story of talent and transformation to the Market Close stage.
We’re thrilled to have him and excited for what comes next.

Despite the headlines, global investors have not turned their backs on the UK. In fact, many are paying closer attention than ever.
London remains one of the few cities where capital, talent, regulation and global connectivity intersect at scale. From fintech and AI to green finance and professional services, international investors continue to view the UK as a gateway market rather than a finished story.
What has changed is selectivity. Capital is flowing to businesses with strong governance, credible leadership and global ambition. Investors are backing companies that can operate across borders, navigate complexity and scale responsibly.
London remains one of the few cities where global capital, policy, talent and innovation intersect daily. It is no coincidence that international investors still choose the City as a base for European operations, deal-making and market access.
The London Stock Exchange continues to act as a gateway, not just to UK assets, but to global growth stories across emerging and developed markets alike.
At the same time, the UK’s role as a convenor matters. Events, institutions and platforms that bring together policymakers, investors and operators are becoming increasingly valuable as global capital looks for clarity and confidence.
The narrative may sound uncertain, but the signal is clear. The UK is still in play, and those building with purpose, discipline and international relevance remain firmly on the radar.
At OTA Media, we sit at the intersection of capital, leadership and global conversation. As investors become more selective, platforms that convene credible voices and shape long-term narratives matter more than ever.

Some tech doesn’t just sit in your kit bag, it quietly becomes part of how you work. For us at OTA Media, Sony has been exactly that. Their A7S series cameras have played a huge role in how we’ve captured content over the years, and most recently, they’ve helped us significantly raise the bar on production quality.
We’ve used Sony’s technology across multiple productions, including filming at the LSEG studios, where reliability, image quality and performance truly matter. In those environments, Sony continues to prove why it’s regarded as the best in the game. From low-light performance to colour accuracy and consistency, the results speak for themselves.

The A7S line has built a reputation for exceptional low-light capability, strong colour science and creative flexibility. Whether filming interviews, live conversations or fast-moving environments, Sony’s cameras deliver cinematic results without slowing the creative process down. They allow us to focus on the story, not the settings.
As our content has evolved, so has our need for scalable, professional-grade tools. Sony’s ecosystem has allowed us to grow without compromising visual standards, helping us move from simple shoots to more ambitious productions with confidence.
Sony doesn’t chase trends. It builds tools creators trust. For empowering us to elevate our production capabilities at every level, Sony earns its place as our Company of the Week.
